Advanced Endoscopy

Advanced Veterinary Care

Diagnostic & surgical endoscopy

At Highgate Veterinary Clinic in North London, we offer both diagnostic and surgical endoscopy, combining the latest technology with expert care. Whether we're investigating mysterious symptoms or removing a foreign object your dog has swallowed, endoscopy often provides answers and solutions that would otherwise require invasive surgery.

If your pet is registered with Highgate Veterinary Clinic, we can discuss endoscopy as part of their ongoing care.

We also welcome referrals from vets and directly from pet parents. With your permission, we'll keep your regular vet informed throughout, ensuring continuity of care.

Pet parent guide:

Why might your pet require an endoscopic procedure?

Endoscopy is particularly useful when your pet has symptoms that need investigating but the cause isn't clear from external examination or basic tests. If your dog or cat has been vomiting repeatedly, has chronic diarrhoea, is losing weight without explanation, or has swallowed something they shouldn't have, endoscopy allows us to look directly at what's happening inside and often retrieve foreign objects without major surgery.

For respiratory issues—like persistent coughing, difficulty breathing, or chronic nasal discharge—endoscopy lets us examine the airways and nasal passages in detail, taking samples if needed. Similarly, if your pet has recurring urinary problems, blood in their urine, or difficulty urinating, cystoscopy can help us identify bladder stones, tumours, or inflammation that might not show up clearly on other tests. The key advantage is that endoscopy is far less invasive than traditional surgery, meaning quicker recovery and less discomfort for your pet, while still giving us the detailed information we need to provide the right treatment.
